 The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Jay Ducote, food blogger, food products entrepreneur, and food radio show host, was in the Baton Rouge airport to catch a flight to College Station for the LSU-Texas A&M game. It was a trip he described as business and pleasure, but every waking moment of Ducote’s life is devoted to the preparation, celebration, and consumption of food.

 Tiger Athletic Foundation, or TAF, has increased priority point credit for gifts made to the LSU Foundation and the LSU Alumni Association and is moving to expand its Priority Point System to include donations to two other LSU-affiliated foundations.

 Jan Liuzza and Leo Hamilton were named chair and vice chair, respectively, and five new members were elected to the LSU Alumni Association Global Board of Directors at the Association’s Annual Meeting.

 When Jim Derrenbacher, of Syracuse, N.Y., reached out to LSU about the possibility of attending events surrounding the LSU-Syracuse match-up on Sept. 26, he received an immediate invitation from the Tiger Athletic Foundation and the LSU Alumni Association to join fans at the Traveling Tigers Tailgate Party at OnCenter near Carrier Stadium.

Peter Kiwanuka, of Uganda, was at LSU just three semesters, but he maintains a connection to the University and to his former host family, Steve Wilson (1975 BACH A&D, 1978 MAST A&D) and his wife, Claire (1979 BACH H&SS, 1993 MLS).

University moves up to 63rd among public universities

1/15/2014   LSU Reports an All-Time High Graduation Rate of 69.1 Percent
  LSU’s six-year graduation rate has once again increased to an all-time high, LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander announced. LSU’s six-year graduation rate is 69.1 percent, up from last year’s rate of 66.7 percent.
